The Adelaide Hills is one of the largest geographical wine regions in Australia, its diversity in terms of altitude, climate and soil helps to produce its distinctive cool climate wines. The Woodside vineyard is planted in heavy clay, and the Pinot Grigio block receives less sun exposure and is a slightly more vigorous part of the vineyard. The 2021 vintage in the Adelaide Hills is being noted as 'one for the ages'. A cool wet winter and spring allowed for healthy canopy development and good fruit set. Slow ripening conditions ensured acids were retained and flavours evenly developed. A truly wonderful vintage.
