Baxter's Block

Nothing is more important to Ben than his family. This wine is named after his eldest son, Baxter. The fruit for this wine is, unsurprisingly, sourced from Baxter’s Block, part of the family vineyard in Kangarilla. The wine encapsulates the best of Baxter’s character; powerful, generous and reliable. A gracious young man, this wine is worthy of its namesake.

The Shiraz vines were planted in 1908, making the Centenarian vineyard on Stockwell Road one of the older vineyards in the Barossa Valley. These ancient vines have an extremely deep root system, plunging more than 50 meters, which contributes to the depth and complexity of the Shiraz. The vineyard is low yielding and produces highly concentrated grapes, leading to wines with powerful flavours, excellent balance and great length.
