Founded in 2001, Mr. Riggs Wine Co. is headed by iconic South Australian Winemaker, Ben Riggs.

Ben graduated from Roseworthy Agricultural College in Adelaide and furthered his experience through vintages abroad in the Napa Valley, Bordeaux, Greece, Italy, and the South of France as well as Australia. Ben has logged a whopping 47 vintages in total. His award-winning wines have earned over 150 trophies, he was twice nominated for Gourmet Traveller WINE Winemaker of the Year, and two times Bushing King (crowned for the best wine in McLaren Vale).

A certified AWRI Advanced Sensory judge, Ben has also been an AWRI Advanced Sensory Lecturer, and Senior Judge at the Royal Melbourne Wine Show on many occasions. Ben also works in a consulting capacity for wineries and produces wine for wholesale and retail entities. He is passionate about community and is actively involved in the McLaren Vale wine community. He ran the McLaren Vale Wine Show for 10 years, was Vice Chair of McLaren Vale Wine Grape and Tourism Association for 3 years, and Chair for 3 years.

In 2001, Ben launched Mr. Riggs Wine Co., where he creates wines that honour the vineyard, showcase varietal character, and reflect his personal style and wines that he loves to drink.
